What is Drupal Console ?


Drupal Console is a CLI (Command Line Interface) for Drupal, Drupal console is a tool to generate boilerplate code, interact with a Drupal 8 installation. Drupal console is similar to drush. You can use Drupal console to install modules, rebuild cache, connect to databases.


Install Drupal Console using Curl Command:-


First of all, go to the /etc/tmp folder using the following command.

# cd /etc/tmp

Then run the following curl command to get drupal.phar

# curl -L -o drupal.phar

Then move drupal.phar file to the /usr/local/bin with the following command.

# mv drupal.phar /usr/local/bin/

We need to make executable drupal.phar file,  Make it executable with this command.

# chmod +x /usr/local/bin/drupal.phar

That’s it!

Step1: Login your account using SSH, then go to the folder where drupal located.


Step2:  After that, run the following command given below.

# composer require drupal/console:~1.0 --prefer-dist --optimize-autoloader

Step3: Once the command process is completed. The default Drupal Console file located at:-




If you want to run any command first go to this directory then run any command.
